  2.           Undocumented features of the IC-24AT - (from ICOM)

  5. The IC-24AT dual band hand-held has three additional features which are not
  6. described in the owner's manual. They have been left out of the manual
  7. because some countries restrict the use of the radio in these modes.
  8.  
  9. AM aircraft receive plus 740 TO 960MHz receive:
  10.  
  11. Remove D13 from the main logic board (this diode may already be removed by
  12. ICOM in some units). D13 is on the main logic board and is a discrete diode
  13. (one of two in the radio) near the centre of the board. It is the leftmost
  14. discrete diode of the two on the board, when the radio is held open and the
  15. controls are positioned away from you.

  17. Whilst simultaneously holding the "LIGHT", "B" and "=" keys depressed, turn
  18. the power on.
  19.  
  20. It should be noted that the radio will not meet specifications on the
  21. out-of-band receive frequencies which are enabled with this modification.

  23. Direct keyboard entry of 100MHz frequency:

  25. Turn power on whilst simultaneously holding the "LIGHT" and "3" keys
  26. depressed.

  28. Cross-band repeat (simplex):
  29.  
  30. Remove D14 from the main logic board (the diode may already have been removed
  31. by ICOM in some units). The diode is a discrete component to the right of D13
  32. (see above), and directly adjacent to it.
  33.  
  34. Hold "FUNCT" depressed and press "C".
  35.  
  36. To turn ON cross-band repeat:
  37. Hold "FUNCT" depressed, press "5" then press "D".
  38.  
  39. To turn OFF cross-band repeat:
  40. Simultaneously depress "FUNCT" and "D".
